The Happiest Place on Earth
I just got back from Tokyo Disney and Tokyo DisneySea late last night, and I wanted to post some pictures before things get busy the rest of the week. We left early Sunday morning and spent the day at Tokyo Disney, which had all the usual sections of the park similar to in America- Adventure Land, Tomorrow Land, Fantasy Land, etc. It was rough not getting there until 12:00 since we drove down from Sendai, so we did a LOT of waiting in line for rides. But the six of us found many ways to occupy the time. We played various Japanese hand games and a lot of the "Head Up" game up, with charades being by far our favorite category. It was a win-win: we not only entertained ourselves, but all the Japanese people around us.
The most entertaining thing about it all of course- hearing everything in Japanese. I mean, it really is hilarious to hear 3CPO at the Star Tours ride speaking completely in Japanese to R2D2. And Japanese Indian Jones? Yes. Everything about it is just fabulous. We even got to hear Woody say, "Chotto Matte" as we sat and watched a little bit of Toy Story with some kid at our Disney Hotel while waiting to finish checking in (loosely translated "wait a minute").
Anyways, Tokyo Disney Sea was BY FAR our favorite. And since we stayed at a Disney Hotel we were able to get in fifteen minutes before the park opened to go get a fast pass. Although Journey to the Center of the Earth was closed all day, which was a big disappointment, we were able to ride a lot of rides. And the weather was pretty much perfect, too! And since there were only six of us, we stayed together the entire time except for the very end when Jenny wanted to go find Prince Eric in the Mermaid Lagoon. I must say that Tokyo Disney is pretty much like the rest of Japan; orderly and filled with great customer service. So it definitely did not disappoint. =)
