Field Day
Field Day was a blast! The theme this year was heroes, and I can honestly say the last time I have done this much decorating and crafty-things was in High School when I was in charge of decorations for homecoming. I would like to be able to say all the prep leading up to it was great, but many days, we weren't even having fun with the kids and weren't really sure the kids were having fun because there was so much practice, practice, practice. But the day of the kids had such a fun time.
The weather was perfectly overcast, and I didn't fall down during the Parent/Teacher Relay, so I consider that winning at life. Things were really crazy after field day, because then we had our Color Day "Black Day" and then the day after that our second trimester field trip to Michinoku Park. I am no longer allowed to post pictures of the students (where you can see their faces) on any social media outlet for privacy reasons (which makes sense), but their are already pictures on the website from both Field Day and Black Day. But, here is a video from the Parachute/Pom Pom Dance from field day. As you can tell, my kids didn't all end up at the correct starting spot, which didn't surprise me because I have a few kids that are always in their own world. haha. Also, if you hear lots of squealing and screaming, its because it was raining...so by the time we got to our parachute, there was already lots of rain on it.
I almost started crying because the kids were so happy and having so much fun getting all wet. I must say, kindergarten has grown on me. I still don't like the peeing accidents, the "ouch" when they aren't even bleeding and don't even really have a visible scratch, but they are so sweet.
Things are settling down again, back into the regular schedule after all the summer activities. And the best news? FALL is almost here. It is going to be gorgeous. And lastly, Jenny and I have booked our tickets for Vietnam for Christmas. Can't wait to do some more traveling!
